Our home was one of the thousands of homes affected. We were without power for 12 hours, (from 2 pm - 2.30am). As we had an electric cooking stove, we could not even cook dinner. Initially, the kids thought it was pretty fun as we were experiencing "Earth Hour" . However, as time dragged on and as night fell, they became really bored. We had been home the whole day due to the bad weather condition. Fortunately, Uncle Eddy invited us to dinner to celebrate Larrissa's birthday. This was a great respite for the kids.
When we arrived home at 10pm, we were disppointed to find our street and home still shrouded in total darkness. However, we thank God that the temperature was still bearable (10C) and we all tucked into bed early without any heater.
A glimpse of the nightsky.
