Picnic and Barbie

We had lovely weather this week-end, just great for heading outdoors. So off we went....

On Sat, the kids wanted to go to Grants' Picnic ground (Mt Dandenong) to feed the birds and for a picnic. However, when we reached there it was too crowded and so we headed to the nearby Sherbrooke Forest instead. There were some Crimson Rosellas and King Parrots around, but we were not allowed to feed them.
We eventually went on a little hike into the Sherbrooke Forest.
Saw this tree which looks like it having lots of pouting faces and

a pathetic Sherbrook Falls

On Sunday, we thought that we will try to be more OZ by having a BBQ at the Park. As it was quite sunny in the day, we opted for a Barbie dinner at Dobson Lake Park. Just as we finished cooking the food, the weather changed and it became too windy and chilly to eat outdoors. We hurried finished our dinner, packed up and headed home. The kids were disappointed as they couldn't cycle as much as they had wanted.

The kids must be disappointed not able to feed the birds. However it is good to have some exercise walking instead of cycling. Food looks good and delicious.
